After two weeks of inter community football, the stage is now set for the Final of the comrade Sheriff Mulade peace and Unity Cup 2017. The  competition which was hosted by Kokodigbene community featured teams from itsekiri, Ijaw and Ilaje riverine communities. In the semi finals today the host community was eliminated 4-1 on penalty by Krutie while Tejubor defeated Oporoza 3-1 also on penalties. Saturday November 25th final will see krutie and tejubor teams do battle. The final will be graced by Delta state Deputy Governor Barr Kingsly Ex international Austin Eguavon amongst others.

The Chairman, House Committee on Works, Hon. Evans Iwhurie has reiterated the Delta State Government’s commitment to complete the Okpanam Road project.  Hon. Iwhurie stated this during an inspection of the projects in company of other members of the Committee in Asaba.  He urged the contractor to use the period of the dry season to hasten the construction of the road.  Cut  Barr Samuel Alege (SAN), Chairman of Tratrix Construction Nigeria Ltd, the Contracting Firm handling Okpanam Road project, stated that the timeline of the road depended on the release of money from the State Government, even as he promised that before December, 2017 the area that had been covered would wear a new look.  He urged the State Government to improve on the funding of the road, to enable the company deliver it on time.  Cut
