CEPEJ BUILDING COMMISSIONING, A HUGE BOOST TO PEACE EFFORTS IN NIGER DELTA: British Govt
The operational complex of the Center for Peace and environmental Justice CEPEJ was on Thursday 22nd of March 2018 officially commissioned in Okpe local government area in Delta state,Nigeria.
Speaking during the event on Thursday which had in attendance the Emir of Bida, the Oroje of OkepemKingdom,representative of the chief of army staff, speaker of the Delta state house of assembly, representative the Liberian ambersador to Nigeria amongst others top dignitaries, the British high Commissioner to Nigeria Louis Edwards through a representative described the Niger Delta region as very important to the growth and economic stability of Nigeria.
Edwards who commended CEPEJ Coordinator Sherrif Mulade for his continued efforts towards peace o Africa, appealed to stakeholders to always remember that there can be no meaningful growth without peace and assured of the British government's commitment towards a peaceful and prosperous Niger Delta.
On his part Alfred Diata spiff, the Amayanambo of Brass ,in Bayelsa state called for environmental justice for communities impacted by oil and gas exploration.
The event also witnessed the ground breaking and foundation laying ceremony for the African Heritage international Academy building.
