HERDSMEN ATTACK: SELF DEFENSE IS LEGAL- CAN

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has urged Christians to defend themselves from killings and attacks saying self-defense is constitutional

CAN President Samson Ayokunle, made the call during a pre-convention news conference of the 105th annual meeting of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) in Rivers state.
The CAN boss “Lawyers have been speaking that the issue of self defence is constitutional, and also in commonsense which may not be common, because if you see somebody coming with dangerous weapon to kill you and you say it is not constitutional to defend yourself, then you must be ready to lose your life.
“It is commonsense that you defend yourself from danger that is coming, but if you think it is not good to defend yourself, good luck.

Delta State Govt Announce Monthly Environmental Sanitation to hold Saturday

The Delta State Government has announced that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for October will hold across the state on Saturday, October 25, 2025 , between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information in Asaba, both vehicular and human movements will be restricted during the period of the exercise. Residents have been urged to clean their surroundings, cut overgrown weeds, desilt drains, and ensure proper waste disposal to prevent disease outbreaks. The statement reminded Deltans that it is their civic responsibility to keep at least a 20-metre radius around their premises clean. The Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Jamani Tommy Ejiro , will lead officials of the Ministry and other relevant agencies to monitor the exercise across the state to ensure full compliance.
