RECYCLING PLANT: Delta is ready for investors- Akpojotor(News+Video)

With  the world now fully into recycling of various materials to meet rising  human needs, the Delta State government has rechoed readiness for investors who are ready to set up waste recycling plants in the state.

The state had  in the last 7-years witnessed meteoric increase in waste generation in urban areas like Warri, Effrun, Sapele, Ughelli,Ozoro,Asaba and other areas due to population explosion.
Speaking in an interview with TheLivePen, the member representing Delta Central on the Delta State Waste Management Board, Sir Igho Akpojotor reafiremed the determination of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to create wealth from the waste generated in the state.

According to him machineries have been put in pladce to ensure conducive environment for investors which includes a plan to develop a waste village where the waste are gathered and propally sorted.
He meanwhile enjoined Deltans to continue to make use of PSP waste collectors and ensure clean and healthy environment.

Delta State Govt Announce Monthly Environmental Sanitation to hold Saturday

The Delta State Government has announced that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for October will hold across the state on Saturday, October 25, 2025 , between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information in Asaba, both vehicular and human movements will be restricted during the period of the exercise. Residents have been urged to clean their surroundings, cut overgrown weeds, desilt drains, and ensure proper waste disposal to prevent disease outbreaks. The statement reminded Deltans that it is their civic responsibility to keep at least a 20-metre radius around their premises clean. The Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Jamani Tommy Ejiro , will lead officials of the Ministry and other relevant agencies to monitor the exercise across the state to ensure full compliance.
