The United Nations International Children's Fund UNICEF says Less than 10% Nigerian households have access to potable water.

  Zaid Jurji  UNICEF Chief of Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) for UNICEF Nigeria disclosed this In an interview in Abuja while talking about the problem of open defecation in Nigeria.
He maintained that water  is one of the most critical Factor in the  growth of  any country  t affects everything else including education and health.

Delta State Govt Announce Monthly Environmental Sanitation to hold Saturday

The Delta State Government has announced that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for October will hold across the state on Saturday, October 25, 2025 , between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information in Asaba, both vehicular and human movements will be restricted during the period of the exercise. Residents have been urged to clean their surroundings, cut overgrown weeds, desilt drains, and ensure proper waste disposal to prevent disease outbreaks. The statement reminded Deltans that it is their civic responsibility to keep at least a 20-metre radius around their premises clean. The Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Jamani Tommy Ejiro , will lead officials of the Ministry and other relevant agencies to monitor the exercise across the state to ensure full compliance.
