AMNESTY:ACCOMMODATE UNLICENSED REFINERY OPERATORS, AMBAKEDERIMO.



Niger Delta Activist,Joseph Ambakederimo has called for the expansion of the Presidential Amnesty Program to accommodate operators of  unlicensed refineries to stem the tide of increasing oil theft. 

Ambakederimo  who made the call on Thursday during a media breakfast to mark his 63rd birthday in Effurun, Uvwie local government area,Delta state,said there is no better institution or agency than the Amnesty Program  to take  in operators of the unlicensed refineries who he said are ready to give up the trade and work with the government to find alternative incentives for them to engage in. 

He meanwhile hailed the recent  pronouncement made by the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme that more scholarships will be offered to young people of the region.

Joseph Ambakederimo further disclosed that the Community Development Committees of Niger Delta Oil and Gas (CDC) is willing to collaborate with the Presidential Amnesty Office to continue the CDC's ongoing engagement with the operators of the unlicensed refineries and pipeline vandals to embrace dialogue that will enhance their own economic well-being and that of the Nigerian State. 

The Niger Delta Activist commended the National Security Adviser, Mr Nuhu Ribadu who's office superintend over the Presidential Amnesty Office for instituting a special security architecture for the Niger Delta region.
