DELTA STATE GOV DISSOLVES UDU FACTIONAL UUC EXCOS

 


The Delta State government has officially dissolved the two factional leadership of the  Union of Udu Communities UUC, and their excos  with immediate effect.

This was disclosed on Wednesday during a meeting with major  stakeholders including the Ovie of Udu kingdom, Owhoru II  and representatives of the seven ruling houses,  held at the ovie's  Palace, at Otor-Udu.

Executive chairman of Udu Local government Area, Hon Vincent Oyibode who announced governments decision also announced that the 1979 Edicts will not be amended.

He also called on the people to continue to support the state government by maintaining peace, according to him development is impossible in an environment void of peace.

Oyibode, expressed delight with outcome of the meeting describing it as a major step to a more Prosperous Udu.

Also Speaking 

The Otota of Udu kingdom, Chief Sam Odibo,who represented his Royal Majesty, assured that the edict will NOT be amended stressing that the he is irrevocably committed to sustaining the peace in Udu.

On his part 

Special Adviser to the state government on peace building and conflict resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor, warned that anyone parading himself as the President General of Udu will be arrested and prosecuted.

He added that an interim leadership of the UUC with one nomination each from the ruling houses in to addition one each from the king and the state government will soon be inaugurated.
